If you open either an interactive session or a SAS program file from within the SAS Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.x / 5.3.x UI, you might receive a pop-up window with the following message:
The pop-up window appears because of a synchronization disconnect between the recovered files for a session and the index that tracks the list of recovered files.
The normal and expected UI behavior when an active SAS editor session times out is for a process to save any open files to the recovered files area and also to update the index that tracks the recoverable files for the session.
If the recovered files and the index become out of sync, newly initiated SAS sessions receive the pop-up error message.
Note: Recovered files might also cease to appear in the recovered files list. There is a separate SAS Note that documents the behavior of files no longer appearing in the recovered files area. See SAS Note 67412, "SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.x/5.3.x - Recovered files functionality in UI compromised if files and associated index become out of sync."
One confirmed condition that results in the recovered files and index being out of sync is when the system exhausts disk space while attempting to save a recovered file. Additional scenarios might produce the same results.
To address the pop-up error message, from the recovered files area in the session editor, you should delete all recoverable files.
Note: Even when there are no recoverable files listed, perform the delete action regardless. The action should prevent additional occurrences of the error message when you initiate a new SAS session.
The issue is fixed in SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.4.
